How this mathematical and clinical model is calculated
Net Work Time = (Clock-Out Time - Clock-In Time) - Unpaid Break DurationElapsed gross time is calculated from the start timestamp to the finish timestamp. The total duration of unpaid lunch or meal breaks is subtracted. The remaining duration represents actual compensable time worked, presented in both natural hours/minutes and decimal hours.
Step-by-Step Calculation Process:
Enter shift start time (e.g. 8:00 AM) and end time (e.g. 4:45 PM).
Enter total unpaid lunch or meal break duration in minutes (e.g. 45 mins).
Inspect net hours worked: 8 hours and 0 minutes (8.00 decimal hours).
Use the Target Clock-Out Estimator tab to find what time to leave for an 8-hour day.
